A Fisherman's Cottage Built For Making Memories

George's is a quaint fisherman's cottage, a sweet traditional stone cottage suitable for a family holiday or a romantic getaway.  The two bedroom property has a newly fitted kitchen and bathroom meaning it is not only clean and tidy but it is stylish and easy to use.  It boasts a separate living and dining room with additional space outside in the form of a small back garden, perfect for outdoor sandwiches before you hit the beach!

The property can sleep up to four with a double master bedroom and a second large bedroom with fun twin beds.  We want to try and make your holiday as relaxing as possible so if you are travelling as a family enjoy the toybox, sweetie tin, baby gates and baby cot all there to make your trip as carefree as possible.  Downstairs in the snug you'll be able to unwind with our Apple TV and wood burner so you can keep cosy in the evenings.  We also welcome you to help yourself to a book off the shelf for some you time.

If you head to the back room you'll find lots of beach stuff in the cupboard, from buckets and spades to balls and windbreaks, be sure to take our crabbing bucket down to the slipway for some family fun. Talking of family fun if you do encounter any traditional British weather we have you covered in the dining room where you'll find a selection of games, cards and puzzles in the cupboards for some traditional, possibly competitive, fun!

In the bathroom, towels are supplied and it is newly fitted with a bath and a lovely shower. The luxury continues into the kitchen with stylish kitchenware and glassware. We also have made sure the kitchen is well equipped so don't be scared to prepare your usual Sunday roast everything you need will be there!

A location that offers something for everyone

Our little holiday cottage is a great base for exploring the Roseland Peninsular but with such lovely local businesses all within walking distance you may choose to stay local; we usually do and we are never disappointed!

If you have little people joining you it might be nice to know we are situated next to The Standard the local village pub (run by the owner's of the Hidden Hut).  It isn't a noisy venue but very handily means you can enjoy a pint in the garden of the cottage while the children sleep, the landlord will even serve you through the window of the garden - perfect! And the food is glorious!  Alternatively a five minute walk from the cottage you'll find the Plume of Feathers in Portscatho.  This is a brilliant pub for pints or dinners; the food is great and it's set in a cosy traditional setting.

Another favourite of ours is Tatams coffee hut down on the slipway in Portscatho.  It has brilliant coffee and pastries with a sea view bar top to sit and watch the sea. I particularly love sitting and watching those daring enough to take a cool dip in the morning of the winter months.

After a coffee you can saunter round the small boutiques in the village.  There are a couple of lovely galleries and in the old fisherman's shelter by the lugger you'll find a small artisan pop up shop where local makers and artists present their wares. Our favourite shop by far though is the Sea Green Garden.   Christine has such a beautiful collection of antiques, handmade items and a plethora of all things gorgeous! After you've had your shopping fix be sure to pop to Ralph's for a pasty, you can thank us later!

Just a short walk from the Hidden Hut

George's House on the Hill is excellently located for some beautiful beaches including Tatams, Towan, Porthcurnick, Percuil and St Anthony's Head to name a few. All on the Cornish Roseland Peninsular ranging from a 5 minute walk to a 6 mile trek from the front door of George's.

Situated in the centre of Gerrans village - a beautiful picturesque traditional Cornish fishing village - just a five minute walk from Portscatho, George's is the perfect holiday location all year round.

If you want cosy winter walks and chilled evenings in front of a log burner, we have you covered or alternatively if body boarding and picnics on the beach in the gorgeous Cornish summer sun is more your thing George's can provide that too.

We are also a 15 minute stroll from the famous Hidden Hut, an outdoor beach cafe with views only rivalled by the food. On our trips to Portscatho this lunchspot makes leaving the village for day trips virtually impossible just incase we miss the days special!
